Mike swam for the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh from 1998-2002.  While at UWO, he set a few team records, recorded top eight swims at the WIAC conference meet, and was an All American in the NCAA Division III swim meet in 2002.

Mike currently resides in Vermillion with his girlfriend, Jenny, daughter Kyleigh, and newborn son, Rylan.
